Novatin, the grandest and largest of the Ancient Elven cities, has been the Capital of the Elven Nation for as long as their history has been recorded, long before the Mortal World and The Veil merged to coexist. Due to the fact that it was the only Elven city which was not open to traveling Demigods and Beast-People, it had the strongest wards in all of The Veil, and was a large Elven Center, the strongest city in the known world. It took 178 Elven mages to complete the warding and protection spells guarding Novatin, and they were the best the Elven nation of Ishmeias had to offer. Due to the long lifespan of Elves, the wards only needed to be refreshed every 5 Millennium or so.
In the Elven War, when the united Demigods were winning, and things were looking grim for the Elves, The Elven Queen at the time sent out the order for all of the remaining civilians of Ishmeias to come to Novatin. By then, more than half of the Elven Population had been slaughtered by the enemy, so the city, which was the largest in the world, was just large enough to house the incoming citizens. Due to the strong magic wards which had been placed to ward off the enemies, the Elves who were in Novatin survived, while the rest of their nation was destroyed and ravaged. Novatin, believed to be gone, remained in hiding for Millennium, until the Elven Queen died, and a new one took her place. The Elves returned to The Veil, only to discover that a new race called Humans, had joined the World, and The Veil had merged with another world. Due to their long lifespans, the Elves have made little progress in forgetting or forgiving the Demigods for what they had done to them, and remain hostile.
